Elgin is always beautiful but its moods shift with the season and right now its time to show off! The Valley is popping with the signs of spring … and blossom is everywhere!
The white flowers signify apple and pear trees, the pink is from stone fruit trees like nectarines and plums – and different apple varietals flower at different times. This means that there are new waves of flowers to be discovered every day.
We are celebrating with a month of fun in the Valley. The Apple Blossom Festival is a slow meander through the month of October.
The idea is to visit for a day or a longer stay. Take a little road trip into the landscape then stop off along the way to try out some fun activities
Picnics, honey infused foods, fynbos and blossom walks, hikes, beard decorating and fishing are all possibilities you can plan into your trip. Add some mountain biking, zip-lining, art exhibitions and a whole lot of fun for the kids and you’ll probably have to stay a while! Check our our month of Apple Blossom Festival happenings, right here!
To track the blossom beauty keep an eye on #ElginBlossoms, we will snap and share it where we spot it! Please share your sightings with us too!
